What is School Phobia?

Fear from going to school

Americal Name: Didaskaleinophobia or Scolionophobia

Symptoms and treatment of School Phobia

Specific phobia can be broadly described as an extreme and inappropriate fear provoked by a particular, single object or situation. The range of stimuli that can provoke a specific phobic response is extremely broad and varied. The fear produced is of clinical significance and is frequently sufficiently distressing to result in complete avoidance of the stimulus.

The degree of disruption of normal life and activity depends upon the nature of the stimulus and the ease with which it can be avoided. Some situations and objects are obviously less frequently encountered than others and hence cause fewer problems. Nonetheless, the distress and worry caused by a specific phobia are very real and can be extremely disruptive of normal life.
