Suffering from Autodysomophobia?
TweetWhat is Autodysomophobia?
Autodysomophobia- Fear of one that has a vile odor.
'Little Albert' had a pet white rat with which he liked to play. In the experiment every time he approached the rat (the CS) an iron bar was struck, making a loud and frightening noise, close beside him (the DCS). The child was frightened by the noise (the DCR) and after five similar exposures, became fearful at the sight of the rat (CR) without the bar being struck. On Illl' basis of these experiments, it was suggested that l'(lIlditioning could account for most cases of phobia, but the theory soon ran in to problems which still hold true today.
