Suffering from Atomosophobia?
TweetWhat is Atomosophobia?
Atomosophobia- Fear of atomic explosions.
Cognitive models for the development and maintenance of phobias are built around the misconceptions held not only by phobic people themselves, but by anxious individuals in general. It has been established that phobic people mistakenly believe that the feared subject or situation is highly dangerous for them.
They experience high levels of anticipatory anxiety and are afraid of catastrophic consequences if they are forced to confront the feared subject. The catastrophic consequences may concern the stimulus itself such as the probability of attack by an animal in the case of animal phobia or being humiliated in public in social phobia.
