Suffering from Apotemnophobia?
TweetWhat is Apotemnophobia?
Apotemnophobia - Fear of persons with amputations.
Paradoxical intention - This is a method in which a phobic person is encouraged to greatly exaggerate his fear and the circumstances in which the phobia occurs in order . to, paradoxically, diminish the power of the phobia.
This is a light-hearted approach, the exaggeration often being to a ridiculous extent designed to generate humour, and is generally used in conjunction with other therapies.
