Healing Headache

To heal your headaches, you need to know that there are two major types of headaches - tension or stress headaches, and chronic headaches or migraines. The more common type is migraine, which results in severe pain around your head, throbbing, nausea, dizziness, vomiting or sensitivity to light.

The first and foremost step to heal your headaches is to change your lifestyle. You can reduce harmful toxins by eating properly, resting appropriately, relaxing, exercising and stopping bad habits, such as cigarette smoking or caffeine addiction.

A simple a solution indeed, healing your headaches largely depends on your capability of taking care of your body. When you feel that headache is about to start, take a break from work, relax or lie down with eyes closed.

If you prefer taking a bath, put several drops of essential oils into your tub. If you're massaging the pain-infected area, take a few drops and continue the massage with oils, rubbing your neck, temples and hairline.

Plasters and poultices - Heal your Headache

These are used to apply steady heat or continued absorption of pain relieving or relaxing constituents to joints or muscles.
Plasters are made by melting one pan of bees wax and two pans of vegetable oil, adding tincture or essential oil at the last minute. Soak a suitably sized cloth in the mix and spread out on a tray to cool and firm up. Apply to the body and cover in plastic or cling film (or paper!) and tie on with a bandage or some tight garment. The most common use is application to chest, back, abdomen and forehead. You could add a hot water bottle or hot towel wrap for extra comfort.

Poultices are similar to plasters, but consist of a 1 cm thick layer of fresh or macerated herbs applied to the skin and covered with a piece of material. This was the earlier form of a plaster, but can still be immediate and effective.
