Can Green and White Tea Handle Depression?

Two traditional procedures

Green and white teas are both types of teas from China that have been used for centuries. Many people have used these teas as a means of controlling the ways how the body works. They may also be used to help control depression.

It helps to understand how these teas are made. Green tea is used with a series of leaves found in China. These Camellia sinensis leaves are made without oxidation. White tea is similar but it uses younger leaves and the buds that come from those leaves.

How it may work

The big point about green and white tea is that they can be used to handle brain waves. Theanine is an amino acid that can be found in these teas and may work to control depression. It helps to create alpha-beta waves in the brain. These are used to help relax the brain to where it will have an easier time with feeling comfortable.

Also, theanine may work to control depression by adjusting the levels of dopamine and serotonin in the brain. This is used to help keep the brain working properly without any risks coming out of it.

How much is needed?

The amount of green tea that is needed each day can vary by each person. A good rule of thumb may be to handle about two to four cups a day for the best results. However, it may help to watch for the caffeine content of green and white tea. These are teas that do contain some caffeine and those who are sensitive to it might experience some adverse effects that might be the opposite of what green or white tea should be doing for controlling depression. This is a problematic concern that can be challenging and may be difficult to work with when trying to find a way to control problems.
