I am a registered psychologist who specializes in narrative therapy, existential/humanistic therapy, emotion-focused therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, Gottman-informed couples therapy, positive psychology techniques, conflict resolution and stress management. I create the conditions whereby the everyday lives of my clients become more pleasurable, engaging and meaningful.
My therapeutic philosophy is to “meet them where they are and take them where they are going”. I believe to “affect the quality of the day is the highest of the arts”. Together we will bridge differences, solve dilemmas and create discoveries.

After thirty years of practice as a psychotherapist and twenty years of teaching graduate students my primary goals remain the same: I intend to help clients discover their own strengths and resources. I enjoy empowering clients to confidently utilize their abilities to improve the quality of life and experience healing recovery from crises. An ideal client allows me to work jointly with them in a partnership to enjoy a sense of their own worth and resilience.

I have an appreciation for the spiritual dimension of a client’s life. I respectfully work a client’s sources of inspiration and their search for meaning and purpose in their world.
We are impacted by our family histories and, as we understand this, we can make new choices. I’ll help you look at addictive behavior patterns, family systems, abuse history, foster family experiences, grief/loss/healing, and personal growth challenges. I also do group therapy work with adolescents, adults and seniors.

As an AASECT certified sex therapist since 2005, I enjoy helping adults re-ignite excitement and be more comfortable sexually. Michael Cranston, LCMFT, CST, and I work with some couples as a husband and wife coaching team to take on relationship dynamics, communication problems and intimacy concerns.

As an LMFT, my approach is broadened to include how your presenting concerns impact relationships with your spouse, family and friends. This holistically emphasizes the need for change in you and your support systems so you can grow in a context that can adapt and accommodate your needs.
As a licensed minister, I am willing to integrate your faith into your treatment as much or as little as you desire.

I am EFT and EMDR trained and a member of the Association of Comprehensive Energy Psychology and EMDRIA. My efforts involve helping you learn tools you can use on your own to access your wise inner guidance system and increase your problem solving ability.
