After having interned at a substance abuse treatment facility for two years, I served as the coordinator for an adolescent substance abuse program. I became very comfortable working with individuals struggling with the emotional impact of substance abuse as well as the difficulties surrounding maintaining one’s recovery.
As a Psychologist with a background in Recreation Therapy, I have a unique perspective on wellness, health, and making change. I focus on building on strengths and I believe even small changes to lead to big differences!
In your first session with me, I will work with you to develop your therapeutic goals, and conduct a scientifically-based and thorough assessment that will help you gain a greater understanding of your concerns, as well the unique strengths you possess that will help you achieve your goals.
I specialize in working with trauma loss and grief across the development spectrum. I see patients as young as five years old whom I engage in play therapy, adolescents and adults. I also treat depression and anxiety disorders. I see individual couples and families.
I provide services in Spanish. I also see patients from a variety of cultural backgrounds and ethnicities. I have developed some expertise in cross cultural issues.
Provide comprehensive assessment involving psychological and school neuropsycholgical evaluations with school aged clients (3-22 yrs). Counseling services emphasize evidence based cognitive behavior methods.

My strong background in trauma, attachment, family systems and developmental needs enhances my work. I integrate CBT, Narrative, Solution Focused, Mindfullness, Play Therapy and other modalities. Together we will work from a strengths based perspective and will explore and remove obstacles to well-being. I often use creative means of expression to reach goals.
I bring a deep respect and appreciation for the uniqueness of each individual, attuned to their many strengths, hopes and dreams. I have completed extensive certificate training in the area of Play Therapy and enjoy working with children and adolescents and their families. For children, play is their natural form of communication. I have also completed training in the area of Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and find working with couples very rewarding.
My practice is influenced by: Client Centered Therapy, Humanistic models, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness Techniques, Emotionally Focused Therapies and Play Therapy.
My work is a blend of: Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Humanistic Psychology, and Jungian Archetypes and Symbols.

For the past several years, I have been working in the area of infant and early childhood mental health. I use a play-based, attachment & trauma informed approach in therapy with children and parent-child therapy. I am a Registered Circle of Security Parent Educator.
