Anger Management
Most recently, I created Knotted Words Celtic Art, an online business selling inspirational celtic art, combining celtic knotwork with literary quotes, ranging from nursery rhymes and fairytales to poetry and more gothic fare inspired by the likes of H. P. Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe.
Having completed a PhD in Clinical Psychology by a Canadian Psychological Association accredited program, I have extensive and broad clinical training helping diverse populations (4000+ supervised hours of psychotherapy and assessment). I also have special experience working in the correctional (prison) system and completed my thesis on Correctional Staff.
I pride myself on being warm, non-judgmental and easy-going. I take my clinical work seriously and am dedicated to ongoing professional development in evidence-based practice. I employ diverse theoretical approaches and a collaborative, integrative style, to help my clients achieve their individual goals for wellbeing.
My clients worldwide learn to manage expectations, change thinking and behaviour, live a congruent lifestyle and create a sustainable self-care plan. I address a wide range of problems including: stress & anxiety; depression; unresolved anger; forgiveness; grief; bitterness; low self-esteem; identity crisis; conflict; family issues; marriage conflicts; crisis intervention.
It is important for me understand and connect with the people I work with. My hope is they would feel heard and experience hope. I believe God has a plan and purpose for everyone, which gives me passion and hope to work with the darkest situations people are facing.
I am passionate about working to help people experience the most this life has to offer. I serve people in the areas of anxiety, depression, grief/loss, identity formation, parenting, and marital/pre-marital.
I am an experienced mental health and addictions counselor. I provide psychotherapy services to individuals, couples and families I take pride in providing a comfortable and supportive atmosphere. I will help you realize what powerful resources you have within yourself to achieve your goals and meet your needs. I believe everyone should be able to take control of there life.
Practice specialties are anger management, separation/divorce,domestic violence. I have developed group programs, facilitated groups for men and women, with the above noted issues, worked in probation services where I supervised a caseload of men convicted of domestic violence or sexual assault, published a book on anger management.
I have enjoyed serving our nation’s veterans on issues related to their service. I have worked with people with developmental disabilities as well as the elderly. I also find work with children and teenagers to be fulfilling. Essentially, I am happiest when I can empower people to improve themselves.
