I am a registered psychologist with experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. I have used my extensive training to help clients improve their mood, self-esteem, coping skills, and relational functioning. I have worked with children and adults recovering from experiences of abuse and those wanting to stop the cycle of abuse. I am cognizant of cultural factors that impact all individuals and I have experience working with clients of various ethnic backgrounds.

My strong background in trauma, attachment, family systems and developmental needs enhances my work. I integrate CBT, Narrative, Solution Focused, Mindfullness, Play Therapy and other modalities. Together we will work from a strengths based perspective and will explore and remove obstacles to well-being. I often use creative means of expression to reach goals.

I bring a deep respect and appreciation for the uniqueness of each individual, attuned to their many strengths, hopes and dreams. Whether you are a parent concerned about your child, an adult seeking individual or marital counselling, or an individual seeking positive family changes, I will work with you collaboratively to achieve your goals.

In my practice I see a wide range of clients: adults, teens, children, adults who have experienced developmental traumas [sexual, physical & emotional abuse] (often in the context of their own dysfunctional family of origin), clients with PTSD, couples who are seeking to strengthen their relationship, families looking for new ways to resolve old problems, and individuals who keep repeating the past. Depending on the presenting problem and a client's history, I often integrate EMDR Therapy and Gestalt Therapy and/or Structural Family Therapy.

I have been working in the counselling field since 1970, receiving my PhD in Counselling Psychology from The University of Alberta in 1992. I was licensed in California in 1980 as a Marriage, Family, and Child Therapist. In 1989 I became registered as a Psychologist in Alberta. I have completed levels I and II of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy training from the EMDR Institute in 1998.

I have spent more than 20 years listening to people who are struggling to cope with issues in their lives. What is the difference between the ones who end up in a better condition and those that don't? Work. The ones who end up in a better condition are the ones who put effort into change. Some have to work really hard and some less so. The question is this: What will You do? Are you ready to do the work to be in a better condition? Let me know if you are.

Healing and change is a co-creation. Whether dealing with stress, anger or being stuck in life. I make a safe place for my client to move towards change into understanding, peace and joy. Using a variety of modalities: NLP, hypnosis, regression therapy and coaching we achieve results within a short time. Using athe Third Circle Protocol working with family relationships seeing both parties together and separately - aiming for a successful outcome of understanding and respect. Teens and parents or couples. This protocol has now become a book The Third Circle Protocol (my third book) published by Findhorn Press.

Regression therapy takes you back to the initial sensitive event, in this life, the womb, or a past life. It doesn't matter where the initial trigger came from - that's where the memory or emotion came into the body. Also the Third Circle Protocol works developing a respectful loving relationship with self and others..

At some point in life we may question who we are and where we are going. Life transitions become increasingly difficult to navigate as life moves at an ever faster pace. During such liminal and transitional times, we need an oasis to rest and reflect. We need someone to be present with us, to help us slow down and gain perspective. At times, issues from our past sabotage our ability to engage full in the world and life seems to pass by us. Perhaps you feel a longing for something more and need a place of support to sort through the confusion. Perhaps you need a place to help you discover the wisdom awaiting in your heart. This is the essence of therapy. For me, therapy is a process of discernment. It's a journey to help you be more present to yourself and those around you.

I have experience treating a wide range of concerns including: family of origin issues, grief, loss, anxiety, depression, and addictions - both substance and process addictions such as sexual compulsivity. My graduate and undergraduate studies in neuroscience informs my work, it helps me see how the interaction between psychological, biological, and societal factors impact an individual's experience and perception of the world.

You deserve a tailored, integrative approach suited to your needs. Together we will build a collaborative, therapeutic relationship to support you in creating the life you want.
