In my practice, I look to build a strong and trusting rapport with clients. We are then able to work together on identifying potential sources of life stressors as well as strengths. Throughout that process, I assist clients in developing an understanding of their interactions with others. In exploring these areas, clients are then able to identify and modify previous patterns of behavior in order to achieve their full potential personally, academically, and/or vocationally.
After having interned at a substance abuse treatment facility for two years, I served as the coordinator for an adolescent substance abuse program. I became very comfortable working with individuals struggling with the emotional impact of substance abuse as well as the difficulties surrounding maintaining one’s recovery.
